Installation and available images

EDIS lists CentOS Stream 10 and 9 templates. Legacy CentOS Linux and Stream 8 images may still appear in older menus, but they are not maintained choices for a new server.

  1. Choose a location and base VPS plan.
  2. Review the preselected OS version in checkout. You can later reinstall from the VPS image menu.
  3. Connect by SSH, apply updates and configure access, services and backups.

Stream has a different role

CentOS Stream tracks development ahead of the next RHEL minor release. It has a different update model from the former CentOS Linux rebuild.

Compatibility before deployment

Check whether your applications support Stream. AlmaLinux or Rocky Linux may be more appropriate when a vendor requires those enterprise distributions.

Version and CPU checks

Stream 10 requires x86-64-v3. Confirm CPU features for the selected host; do not infer instruction-set support from the vCPU count alone.

What happened to CentOS Linux?

The former CentOS Linux releases are end-of-life. This page focuses on maintained CentOS Stream versions, not a newly supported CentOS Linux product.

What is CentOS Stream?

It is the continuously delivered stream of development ahead of the next minor release of RHEL. Assess that update model against your production requirements.

Which versions can I choose?

EDIS lists CentOS Stream 10 and CentOS Stream 9. Select the current image in checkout and verify software and CPU compatibility.

Who manages the operating system?

EDIS operates the host infrastructure and platform. You administer the guest OS, software, firewall, updates, application security and backups. These are self-managed VPS plans.

Can I configure more RAM or storage?

The listed plans keep their original base specification and price. At checkout you can add up to 24 GB RAM and 400 GB drive capacity for an additional charge. Maximum totals are calculated from each plan’s included resources. An existing server needs a restart for RAM changes and filesystem expansion after a disk upgrade.
