What we measured
On 17 September 2026, between 10:17 and 10:29 UTC, we collected Globalping ping and MTR measurements to temporary VPS instances at both Vienna locations. The collection covers 16 European source selections and 47 matched probe pairs, using 16 packets per test. Targets were tested sequentially, rather than simultaneously.
Where each location had the lower latency
NDC2 had lower average ping round-trip times on every paired probe in the Warsaw and Milan selections. Interxion had lower values on every paired probe in the Vienna and Bratislava selections.

Lower RTT is better for responsiveness. These are summaries of the sampled probes, not city-wide averages. The complete report includes all 16 source selections, including mixed and closely matched results.
Your users’ ISP matters
The observed MTR paths commonly approached NDC2 through Nessus (AS47692) and EDIS Global (AS57169), while the Interxion sample showed M247 (AS9009). These are visible paths in this collection, not a complete inventory of peering or transit arrangements.
Budapest illustrates the importance of the source network: its ATW probe measured about 14.83 ms to NDC2 and 25.89 ms to Interxion, while its M247 probe measured about 24.55 ms and 5.34 ms respectively. Geography alone would not reveal that difference.
How to use the results
For audiences on networks similar to the sampled Warsaw and Milan probes, NDC2 is worth testing first. For the sampled local Vienna and Bratislava networks, Interxion is worth testing first. Compare both from the ISPs that matter to your application before deciding.

Scope and limitations
The ping tests received 752 of 752 replies at NDC2 and 748 of 752 at Interxion. Destination-hop MTR replies were 751 of 752 and 746 of 752 respectively. This short sample cannot establish sustained packet loss, uptime or available throughput.
The original temporary VPS targets have since been retired. The Looking Glass links above provide current testing tools and permanent test addresses; they were not the targets of this historical collection.
